چکیده مقاله :
Tetrazoles belong to the class of twice unsaturated fivemembered ring aromatic heterocycles, consisting of one carbon and four nitrogen atoms. They do not exist in nature. Interestingly, they have the highest number of nitrogen atoms among the stable heterocycles because pentazoles are highly explosive compounds even at low temperature. [1]. Tetrazole derivatives possess various biological activities due to the fact that a tetrazole functional group serves successfully as a metabolically stable replacement for carboxylic acid. In most cases, the methods of preparation and biological activity have been the point of interest. Tetrazoles have been widely used in various reactions such as: protection reactions, methylation, organometallic, thermolysis and photolysis, insertion reaction via nitrenes, and more [2]. In this research, the reaction of 5-aryl(aryloxy) tetrazole with dimethyl sulfoxide and acetic anhydride formed two kinds of products; 1- and 2-thiomethoxymethyl-5-aryl(aryloxy) tetrazoles via modified Swern reaction.
