چکیده مقاله :
In recent years, the combustion of fossil fuels and deforestation through uncontrolled emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2 ) have led to climate change. To address this issue, carbon capture and utilization (CCU) defined as capturing CO2 and converting it to useful chemicals, has attracted much attention. In this regard, the production of valuable cyclic carbonates through the direct coupling of CO2 with epoxides is one of the most efficient processes for the mitigation of CO2 emissions. For this important transformation, ionic liquids as a family of organocatalysts, are paid more attention due to their stability and non-toxicity. On the other hand, covalent triazine frameworks (CTFs) as a class of porous polymers have been widely studied as heterogeneous catalysts for chemical CO2 conversion. Herein, we wish to disclose that a covalent triazine framework functionalized by ionic liquid (IL-CTF) linkers could exhibit superior activity toward direct coupling of CO2 with terminal epoxides through the coexistence of triazine basic site and halide ions .
