چکیده مقاله :
One of the methods of converting and consuming CO2 greenhouse gas, which has increased in the earth's atmosphere in the current century, into valuable chemicals is to combine it with epoxides and form five-membered ring carbonates. [1] Hollow mesoporous materials (HMMs) have attracted much attention in the last decade. HMMs have the advantages of low density, large void space, and large specific surface area. One of the main tips for designing catalysts for the conversion of CO2 gas is the use of hollow catalysts which have a significant tendency toward CO2 capture and storage.[2] Considering the importance of hollow structures for gas phase reactions and the catalytic role of imidazolium units in the conversion of carbon dioxide, a new catalyst based on bis imidazolium groups incorporated into pore walls of hollow mesoporous organosilica nanoparticles (Im-HMON) has been introduced. The coupling reaction of the CO2 with various types of terminal epoxides could be selectively achieved under mild reaction conditions in the presence of Im-HMON(Scheme 1). The catalyst was successfully reused for six reaction runs without any remarkable decrease in its activity and selectivity.
