Synthesis of Ethyl 1-naphthylacetate Using MgFe2CuO5 as a Nanocatalyst Under Solvent-free Condition

چکیده مقاله :
1-naphthylacetic acid, also known as naphthylacetic acid and α-naphthylacetic acid, is a broad-spectrum plant growth regulator, it has been successfully developed by Union Car-hide in the United States [1]. Its physiological function and mechanism are similar to that of indole acetic acid, which can promote cell division and expansion, induce the formation of adventitious roots, increase fruit setting and prevent fruit drop, change the ratio of female and male flowers, etc. Through the leaves, branches of the tender epidermis, seeds into the plant, with the flow of nutrients to the whole plant [2]. With naphthalene as raw material, under the action of MgFe2CuO5 and potassium bromide, the reaction was carried out with ethyl chloroacetate and ethyl 1-naphthylacetate was directly prepared (Scheme). In the absence of KBr, no ethyl 1-naphthylacetate was formed. After the completion of the reaction, the unreacted naphthalene was removed, the ethyl 1-naphthylacetate was filtered out, washed with cold water, and recrystallized to obtain pure ethyl 1-naphthylacetate.
