Synthesis and Characterization of hydrogel based on beta –cyclodextrin- polyacrylic acid supported on nano silica

In recent years, the drug delivery systems have expanded greatly with the development of the synthesis of various hydrogels. In this study, beta –cyclodextrin- polyacrylic acid supported on nano silica has been synthesized and characterized. For this gold, the surface of nano silica was first modified by mercapto propyl trimethoxy silane in toluene. Free radical polymerization of the thiolated silica with acrylic acid by AIBN initiator produced polyacrylic acid supported nanosilica. The reaction of composite by thionyl chloride and then beta –cyclodextrin produced the SiO2-PAA-β-CD hydrogel (Scheme 1).
