Synthesis of 3,4-Dihydropyrimidinones using boron tri fluoride supported on silica nano particles as an efficient catalyst in different conditions

Pyrimidinones are heterocyclic rings that are similar to pyridines. They show many medicinal properties. In this research, using suitable conditions, pyrimidinones were synthesized with the highest efficiency. The use of borane trifluoride stabilized on nano silica was used for the synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones. This catalyst is cheap, available and easily prepared. Investigation and analysis of the manufactured catalyst was done using methods such as FT-IR, TEM, FESEM, XRD, EDS, TGA and BET. Derivatives of 3,4-dihydropyrimidinones were synthesized from borane trifluoride stabilized on nano silica as catalyst in one-pot conditions, using various aldehydes, beta-diketo and urea or thiourea (Scheme 1). Finally, the manufactured derivatives were analysed by FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. Among the advantages of this research, we can mention the greenness of the catalyst and the synthesis of derivatives with high efficiency using different methods.
