The application of Selanyl Tetrazoles/HY Zeolite Hybrids as an organic - inorganic hybrid catalyst in the synthesis of pyrroles

Pyrroles have board applications as pharmaceutical agents, conducting polymers, molecular optics, electronics and gas sensors for organic compounds [1]. This ring system is a key component of alkaloids, synthetic materials, bioactive molecules such as vitamin B12, Heme and cytochromes, and biologically active compounds such as indolizine, unsaturated γ-lactams and bicyclic lactams. However, there are several methods for the synthesis of pyrroles. The Paal-Knorr reaction is one of the most significant important and simple methods to synthesis a pyrrole derivatives. In the Paal-Knorr reaction, 1,4-dicarbonyl derivatives are converted to pyrroles via acid mediated cyclization with primary amines which remains most common and attractive [2]. In continuation of our previous work on the applications of heterogeneous acid catalysts [TMSP-S-Tet.]HY-Z in the synthesis of organic compounds [3]. herein, we report the preparation and characterization of a novel organic-inorganic hybrid catalyst, namely three ethoxy silan propyl selenium tetrazole [TMSP-Se-Tet.] HY-Z functionalized on HY zeolite and examined in the synthesis of pyrroles derivatives via the Paal-Knorr reaction.
