چکیده مقاله :
Graft polymerization is a suitable method for modifying natural polymers. In this study, acrylic acid (AA) was grafted onto chitosan (Cs) through plasma in order to achieve the desirable properties of chitosan. Atmospheric Pressure Plasma (APP) treatment is a green technology that can induce the radical formation and crosslinking of polymers in liquid phases.1 The structure of chitosan grafted acrylic acid (CsAA) copolymer have been characterised by FTIR spectroscopy. After grafting, the new band at 1698 cm−1 appears in CsAA spectrum. It corresponds to stretching vibrations of carboxyl groups which is attributed to grafting of AA onto the Cs. The presence of the asymmetrical and symmetrical AA COO− groups at 1516-1541 cm− 1 confirm the interaction of Cs with AA
