چکیده مقاله :
The special characteristics of acridinedione compounds, including the presence of N-heteroatom, the presence of acridine ring, their electronic behaviour, and the possibility of synthesis of extensive derivatives, as well as their bichromophoric structure and ability to interact with various proteins, render them a captivating framework in the realms of synthesis, heterocyclic, and medicinal chemistry1. The last years have seen an impressive improvement of the use of iron complexes as fascinating and valuable catalysts in organic synthetic transformations2. In this work, we report the synthesis, characterization, crystal structure of and catalytic activity of a new dinucelar iron(III) complex, [Fe2(L)2Cl2] (1). Compound 1 was synthesized by a reaction of FeCl2•6H2O, H2L (where ligand H2L is 2,2'-((1E,1'E)-(ethane-1,2-diylbis(azanylylidene))bis(methanylylidene))bis(4-bromophenol)) in ethanol. The crystals of compound 1 were obtained by slow solvent evaporating method during one week. This compound was characterized by elemental analysis and FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray analysis. The results of these analyses show the formation of the phenolato bridged dinuclear iron complex. Compound 1 was used as catalyst for the green synthesis of acridinedione derivatives (see Scheme 1) under mild condition. The results indicated that that this complex is an efficient catalyst for this reaction and enables the synthesis of acridinedione derivatives with high yields.
