چکیده مقاله :
Artemisia vulgaris L. is one of the best-known species of this genus, which belongs to Asteraceae family, and has a widespread distribution in the natural habitats worldwide, and exhibits antioxidant, hypolipidemic, hepatoprotective, antispasmolytic, analgesic, estrogenic, cytotoxic, antibacterial, antifungal, and broncholytic properties. In this study, the amount of free, esterified and bound phenolic acids exiting in A. vulgaris has not been studied was investigated. In the first level, the phenolic acids were extracted, and then the amounts of them were studied using HPLC. The obtained results showed that the bound phenolic acid extract had the highest yield with the amount of 3.44%. The analysis of phenolic acids indicated that rosmarinic acid, salicylic acid, m-coumaric acid and caffeic acid were the main free phenolic acids with the amounts of 68.77, 21.05, 10.21, and 5.09 mg/g extract, respectively. Caffeic acid, m-coumaric acid, and gallic acid with the amounts of 8.37, 3.36, and 1.14 mg/g extract, respectively, were the main of esterified phenolic acid. Therefore, it may be suggested that, Artemisia vulgaris is a source of phenolic acid compounds.
