The effect of deep eutectic solvent on the antifouling performance of ultrafiltration membrane

چکیده مقاله :
In this research, a deep eutectic solvent (DES) based on Choline chloride (ChCl):1,5-Diphenylcarbazide (DPC) has been synthesized and applied into PVDF membrane matrix. The performance of the bare membrane and the DES-incorporated membrane had been evaluated in the terms of filtering dry milk powder solution with 10000 mg/l of concentration. Based on the results, the modified membrane showed higher pure water flux and also permeate flux over pure water and dry milk solution filtration compared with the bare membrane. This outcome showed that DES could be considered as a proper additive to enhance membranes’ hydrophilicity and antifouling properties.
