Fabrication, Characterization, and Investigation of Application of Engineered Ta-doped ZnO/Hydroxyapatite Nanostructures in the Fabrication of Quinoline- 3-carbonitriles as an Efficient Catalyst

Engineered nano-sized Ta-doped ZnO based/hydroxyapatite composites have been prepared by hydrothermal protocol [1]. Herein, Ta-doped ZnO/HAp composites with difference shapes are prepared in various conditions (various pH adjusters, green routes, temperatures, etc.). The designed nanostructure was characterized applying X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. The Ta-doped ZnO/HAp composite has been used as an efficient catalyst for the fabrication of quinoline-3- carbonitriles [2] in ethanol solvent at reflux conditions at the shortest reaction time. Moreover, green solvent, easy separation of nanocatalyst, reusability without noticeable loss of catalytic efficiency are other advantages.
