چکیده مقاله :
Efficient water treatment methods are necessary to remove hazardous dyes from industrial wastewater, which poses a threat to human health and the environment in developing countries [1]. Various techniques have been utilized for the treatment and remediation of contaminated wastewater, with catalytic degradation being a promising and widely used method for environmental pollution treatment. Researchers have focused on developing and optimizing novel low-cost catalysts with high catalytic efficiency and recyclability, including activated carbon, coal, clay, fly ash, zeolites, and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) [2, 3]. This study focuses on exploring the potential of bimetallic MOFs for enhancing catalytic activity in water treatment. Specifically, it investigates the preparation of modified Cu-Zn-MOF nanocomposites using Waste PET Bottles (WPTS), aiming to degrade organic pollutant dyes (OPDs) in aqueous media under mild conditions. A bimetallic Cu-Zn-MOF is successfully synthesized and utilized as a heterogeneous catalyst. The cost-effective and environmentally friendly approach involves using terephthalic acid on MOF structure derived from the degradation of WPTS, with the incorporation of Cu to enhance catalytic efficiency for the chemical degradation of OPDs.
