Nanosilica supports, like SBA-15, are very important in nanochemistry due to their availability, easy surface modification, and favorable properties such as porosity, high thermal and mechanical stability, low toxicity, and biocompatibility. They have valuable applications as chemosensors, catalysis, and in drug delivery. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in chemical sensors capable of detecting environmentally important ions. SBA-15, a two-dimensional hexagonal mesoporous silica, offers a valuable substrate for modification with various organic chelating groups such as aldehydes and amines. SBA-Pr-Cl can be reacted with 2-Chloroquinoline-3-carbaldehyde to provide SBA-Pr-CQC, followed by the reaction with aryl amine compound to synthesis SBA-Pr-CQC-Arylamine, which can be used as efficient chemosensor.
