Thin Layer Nanocomposite membrane containing Blue TiO2 Nanotube

Today, membrane technology has gained a significant position in various industries due to its numerous advantages compared to other separation technologies, and it is extensively employed for wastewater treatment. In this study, we explored the enhancement of Polyethersulfone membranes by incorporating blue titanium dioxide nanotubes through a polydopamine thin layer. The results indicated that this modification led to improved hydrophilicity and membrane structure, suggesting that the presence of blue titanium dioxide nanotubes can effectively optimize the performance of Polyethersulfone membranes. Common types of TiO2 nanoparticles were used as additive and a comparative study revealed that blue TiO2 nanotubes displaying superior visible light activity with a bandgap of 2.42 eV. Importantly, this photocatalytic efficiency required less energy initiation.
