چکیده مقاله :
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide [1]. Up to now, several methods have been used for cancer treatment. In between, chemotherapy is one of the most important methods in the clinics. Despite the advantages of this way, it suffers from several issues, therefore, today there are enormous efforts to achieve smart drug delivery systems based on nanomaterials [2-3]. Considering these, in this research, the new photoluminescent nanohybrid was prepared based on starch nanoparticles (St NPs) and pre-synthesized carbon dots (CDs). The performed Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis approved the success of St/CDs nanohybrid synthesis. DLS obtained the mean diameter of the St/CDs at about 42 nm. Additionally, the photoluminescence (PL) test approved the photoluminescence nature via the detection of the blue emission under the UV lamp along with a peak at 421 nm of its PL spectrum. Altogether, the findings show that the prepared system can be proposed as an anticancer drug delivery agent owing to its structure, as well as a bioimaging system due to its photoluminescent nature.
