Zif-8/Polysaccharide nanocomposite hydrogel films as a potential platform for wound dressing

In the history of modern medicine, there has been a serious risk of antibacterial drugs as losing their effectiveness against bacteria [1]. In this regard, nanocomposite hydrogel films based on natural polymers have been recently proposed as antibacterial platform [2]. In this work, antibacterial metal-organic frameworks were developed to increase the biological efficiency of the hydrogel films. Various analysis techniques were utilized for the validation of successful construction of the nanocomposites. Antibacterial studies showed inhibition zone of 14 ± 0.5 mm for the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, respectively. Considering obtained results, the prepared nanocomposite hydrogel films have good potential to be employed as antibacterial bio-platform.
