چکیده مقاله :
In the last decade, pharmaceutical compounds have become an emerging group of organic pollutants. These products are used in human and veterinary medicine. Presence of these compounds,in water sources can be considered as a serious threat to public health and the environment. It should be noted that antibiotics have low biodegradability and high toxicity compared to other pollutants. In addition, even at very low concentrations, antibiotics have a negative effect on living organisms (for example, algae and bacteria), so it is very important and necessary to remove these compounds from aquatic environments. Tetracycline is one of the most widely used antibiotics produced worldwide. Several treatment methods, including coagulation-precipitation/biosorption,ozonation,biodegradation,and advanced oxidation processes have been used to remove TC from contaminated water sources. Hydrogen peroxide can lead to the production of HO• radicals. Therefore, it can play the role of an oxidizing agent in this process.[1,2] Manganese oxide (MnO2) due to its availability, tunable crystal structure, and high mobility of network oxygen is widely used.as a heterogeneous catalysts for aerobic oxidations. A variety of MnO2 materials are formed by octahedral MnO6 units sharing corners or edges, which form different tunnel and layered structures (such as α-, β-, γ- and δ-MnO2 etc.) Among the four crystallographic structures, γ-MnO2 has shown the best electrochemical properties.[3,4] In this research, γ-MnO2 was modified with copper and then the product was characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD),FTIR,EDX analyses.Eventually, it was used as an efficient catalyst for removal of TC from aqueous Solution.[5]
