Magnetic covalent organic framework as a highly efficient catalyst for Knoevenagel reaction

چکیده مقاله :
A facile approach for the construction of magnetic porous nanocomposite by grafting a covalent organic framework (COF) onto the surface-modified Fe3O4 nanoparticles was investigated. The magnetic COF (synthesized from melamine and terephthaldehyde) contains clusters of core-shell magnetic nanoparticles and interconnected porous COF. Therefore, it possesses large surface area, high porosity, and supermagnetism, making it an ideal catalyst for various organic reactions. Its performance was examined for the Knoevenagel condensation between aromatic aldehydes with malononitrile. The results exhibited that the magnetic COF possessed superior outstanding catalytic activity, high recyclability, very short reaction time at 25 °C, and an easy work-up process for the Knoevenagel condensation.
