An efficient method for the degradation of picric acid using GO/NiMn2O4

چکیده مقاله :
The world has faced many environmental problems with the increase in population and the fast development of industry and technology [1]. The utilization of metal oxides based on carbon materials has gained increased attention for the degradation of organic pollutants [2, 3]. Herein, a new methodology was described for the fabrication of GO/NiMn2O4 nanocomposite for the removal of picric acid. The exfoliated GO sheets helped to control the crystallinity of NiMn2O4 spontaneously by inducing oxygen vacancies (OVs). Moreover, the active sites of nickel, manganese and the high electronic conductivity of GO in nanocomposite exhibited a vital role in degradation of picric acid. The prepared nanocomposite indicated the highest degradation rate of picric acid (97%) within 40 min The results indicated that the picric acid degradation in the presence of GO/NiMn2O4 was better than alone-NiMn2O4, confirming the synergistic effect of GO layers with metal oxides.
