چکیده مقاله :
Alkyl Polyglycoside is a type of non-ionic surfactant that has a wide range of applications in household, cosmetic, and industrial products. It is plant-derived and biodegradable, made from glucose derivatives and fatty alcohols. Meanwhile, Sulfosalicylic acid is a well-known reagent used in clinical settings to precipitate proteins. It is a non-toxic and beneficial organo-catalyst. This study focused on a new synthesis of APG-C4, which involved directly reacting glucose with excess butanol in the presence of a solid acid catalyst of sulfosalicylic acid. Optimization of APG-C4 synthesis was carried out using the reflux method by reacting glucose with butanol in a mole ratio of 1:5. This method resulted in a higher yield of APG-C4 compared to the other reported procedures that used ZnCl2 as a catalyst, where the product was characterized by FT-IR analysis.
