Terpyridine Copper(I) Complexe as an Efficient Catalyst in the Ullmann Carbon-Carbon Coupling Reaction in the Presence of a New Deep Eutectic Solvent

چکیده مقاله :
An efficient protocol for the Cu-catalyzed carbon-carbon Ullmann coupling reaction of aryl halides has been developed for the synthesis of various biaryl products in good to excellent yields. For this purpose, 4′-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine as a ligand, CuI as a catalyst and a mixture of N,N-dimethylethylenediamine (DMED) and tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) as green Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES) have been used. In the studied reaction, this new DES has been used to act as both a base and a reaction promoter in addition to its main role as a solvent.
