چکیده مقاله :
Tetrasubstituted imidazoles are a class of heterocyclic compounds that contain an imidazole ring with four different substituents attached to its carbon atoms. Tetrasubstituted imidazoles are of significant interest in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery due to their potential pharmacological activities 1. The synthesis of tetrasubstituted imidazoles can be achieved through various methods, such as multicomponent reactions, condensation reactions, and cyclization reactions involving appropriate starting materials 2. In this study, we used the Starch-Cu complex supported on the surface of Hercynite as a catalyst in the synthesis of tetrasubstituted imidazoles. The Starch-Cu-Hercynite complex was prepared using a green chemistry approach, incorporating a renewable and biodegradable Starch ligand coordinated with Cu ions on the magnetic spinel oxide, Hercynite. Characterization of the catalyst was performed using various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques, including FT-IR, XRD, TGA, EDAX, Mapping, SEM, TEM, VSM and XPS, to assess its structural and morphological properties. The catalyst exhibited high efficiency and selectivity in promoting the formation of tetrasubstituted imidazoles, accompanied by reduced reaction times and minimized waste generation.
