A facile one-pot, solvent-free synthesis of novel pyrazolone-1,3-thiazolidine hybrids

چکیده مقاله :
Pyrazolone scaffolds are important heterocycles that constitute an interesting core for the construction of various biologically active molecules. Pyrazolones have attracted the attention of researchers due to possessing a variety of applications in the field of corrosion, dyeing, optical as well as in biology, including antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, and anti-cancer. Also, in medicinal chemistry, metal complexes of pyrazolones have received much attention in recent years [1-3]. These features have led to the design and development of new pyrazolone or sulfur-containing heterocycles with similar properties. In this study, an efficient one-pot, solvent-free synthesis of pyrazolone-1,3-thiazolidine hybrids from the reaction between pyrazolones and α-chloroacetaldehyde in the presence of phenyl isothiocyanate is reported. This reaction was carried out in the presence of triethylamine at room temperature (Scheme 1).
